IANS की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, 30 अक्टूबर की रात बाथरूम में फिसलने और सिर पर चोट लगने के कारण उनकी मौत हो गई.</p>

<p style=”text-align: justify;”>फिल्ममेकर अशोक पंडित ने संजय गुप्ता के निधन की पुष्टि की है. उन्होंने इंस्टाग्राम पर संजय गुप्ता की एक तस्वीर शेयर करते हुए दुख जताया. उन्होंने लिखा, ‘ये वाकई चौंकाने वाला और दुखद है. अभी खबर मिली कि हमारे प्यारे दोस्त और बेहतरीन निर्देशक संजय गुप्ता अब हमारे बीच नहीं रहे. घर पर सिर में चोट लगने की वजह से उनका निधन हो गया. एक और बेहतरीन प्रतिभा बहुत जल्दी चली गई. वो शानदार कहानीकार, जिंदादिल इंसान और सिनेमा के प्रति बेहद जुनूनी थे. हमारी इंडस्ट्री के लिए ये एक बड़ा नुकसान है. दोस्त, तुम्हारी बहुत याद आएगी. उनके परिवार और करीबियों के प्रति संवेदनाएं. ओम शांति.'</p>

<p style=”text-align: justify;”>बॉलीवुड एक्टर तुषार कपूर ने भी संजय गुप्ता के अचानक निधन पर शोक व्यक्त किया. संजय गुप्ता ने तुषार की 2007 में आई फिल्म ‘शूटआउट एट लोखंडवाला’ को प्रोड्यूस किया था. तुषार ने लिखा, ‘ये दुखद खबर याद दिलाती है कि जिंदगी कितनी अनिश्चित हो सकती है. सुबह उठते ही मेरे पसंदीदा निर्देशक संजय गुप्ता के अचानक निधन की खबर मिली. जिंदगी कितनी अनिश्चित है! लेकिन वो एक ऐसी मिसाल थे, जिन्होंने सिखाया कि जिंदगी को कैसे भरपूर जिया जाता है. उनके परिवार के प्रति मेरी गहरी संवेदनाएं. ईश्वर उनकी आत्मा को शांति दे.'</p>

<p style=”text-align: justify;”>न्यूज 18 से बातचीत में मिलाप जावेरी ने भी संजय गुप्ता को याद किया. उन्होंने कहा, ‘वो मेरे गुरु थे. ये बहुत दुखद है. मैं अभी इस बारे में बात नहीं कर सकता. मेरे करियर में उनका बहुत बड़ा योगदान रहा है. उन्होंने मुझे ‘कांटे’ में मेरा पहला ब्रेक दिया था.’ मिलाप ने आगे बताया कि संजय गुप्ता के साथ उनका रिश्ता सिर्फ काम तक सीमित नहीं था. दोनों ने कई प्रोजेक्ट्स पर साथ काम किया. मिलाप ने ‘कांटे’ में डायलॉग राइटर के तौर पर काम किया था. इसके बाद ‘मुसाफिर’, ‘शूटआउट एट लोखंडवाला’ और ‘शूटआउट एट वडाला’ जैसी फिल्मों में भी दोनों साथ जुड़े रहे.'</p>
